“Illuminate” SeeChange 2016 Art Prize
Artists are invited to enter work in the seechange 2016’ Art Prize, ‘Illuminate’. The closing date for entries is COB Monday 2nd May 2016.
The exhibition will be held in the Vera Hatton Gallery, Jervis Bay Maritime Museum and will run from Friday 20 May 2016 to Sunday 12 June 2016.
A substantial monetary prize will be awarded to a work of excellence that reflects the theme.
This exhibition is open to all JBBArts members. There will be a $20 entry fee per work and 15% commission on sales. The exhibition will be curated and it is possible that some art works will not be selected for exhibition. If this occurs, the entry fee will be refunded. (See A, 11, 12 in Conditions of Entry.)
The theme for this exhibition is ‘illuminate’ and artists’ work is to reflect this.
- to supply or brighten, to light up
- to make understandable
- a spiritual or intellectual enlightenment, to enlighten, as with knowledge
- to adorn or decorate with colours and/or gold and silver
- to be resplendent or illustrious
All exhibitors must be current financial members of Jervis Bay and Basin Arts Inc. and at least 16 years old. Art works are to be less than 2 years old and not have previously been exhibited in JBBArts Inc. member’s exhibitions or in the Bay and Basin area.
Exhibitors are to supervise the exhibition for a minimum of two shifts.

First Prize of $2000 cash has been awarded to:
Linda Dening for her installation titled Autumn
The Highly Commended prize of $500 is awarded
Ian Scott for his bronze sculptures titled The Vision
The other Highly Commended of $500 is awarded to:
Judy Panucci for her artwork titled Nature of Memory 2.
